I didn’t start Jet&Bo because of cashmere. I started it because I wanted to make flying more comfortable.
Jet&Bo started with a homemade amenity kit I put together for myself before a long-haul flight. I filled it with the little things I knew I'd want along the way, the sort of things that could make hours in economy just a little more pleasant. That kit eventually became the inspiration for Jet&Bo.

But when I started thinking about what else would genuinely make flying more comfortable, I realized the little things were only part of it. I was still cold. I still wanted something soft to curl up under. I wanted to be able to block out the cabin lights and get some sleep. And I wanted warm feet without bringing something bulky onboard. That's when I started thinking about cashmere.
Why Cashmere?
Cashmere might not seem like the most obvious material around which to build a collection of travel accessories. But once you think about what you actually need on a plane, it makes a lot of sense.
It's amazingly soft, it's warm without being heavy or bulky, it's breathable, and it can provide a lot of comfort without taking up precious space in your carry on. Those were exactly the qualities I was looking for.
So after the amenity kit, the next Jet&Bo product I created was the Cashmere Travel Set.

The Cashmere Travel Set Came Next
The idea was to take several of the things I personally wanted on a long flight and turn them into one beautifully coordinated travel companion. A cashmere blanket to wrap yourself in when the cabin gets cold. A cashmere eye mask to make sleeping on a brightly lit plane a little easier. Cashmere socks for cold feet. And a carry case to keep everything together, which could also be used as a soft pillow cover.
It wasn't about putting cashmere on things simply to make them feel luxurious. Every piece had a purpose. That has always mattered to me. I wanted Jet&Bo to offer practical luxury with beautiful things that earn their place in your carry on because they genuinely make the journey more comfortable.

The Cashmere Travel Set led naturally to other ideas, and cashmere became part of Jet&Bo.
The Cashmere Travel Wrap came later, offering a different kind of versatility: something you could wear as a scarf or wrap through the airport, use for warmth on the plane and continue wearing once you reached your destination.
Then came the cashmere poncho and eye mask sets, cashmere bed socks and other pieces designed around the same philosophy.
Each product was different, but the question behind it remained the same ‘Will this make travel more comfortable?’ If the answer wasn't yes, it didn't belong in Jet&Bo.
Why I Still Choose Cashmere
Ten years later, I still think cashmere and travel pair perfectly. Of course, I love the way cashmere feels, but that's not enough on its own. I love that it can keep you warm without requiring something enormous in your bag. I love that a cashmere wrap can do the job of several things. I love that something as simple as soft socks or an eye mask can make settling into a long flight feel that little bit nicer. Most of all, I like what cashmere represents within Jet&Bo.
There are plenty of things about flying you can't control. You can't make your economy seat bigger. You can't choose the cabin temperature. You can't stop the person in front of you from reclining just as your meal arrives. But you can bring a few thoughtfully chosen things that make the experience more comfortable.
That's what I was trying to do when I put together that first homemade amenity kit. And it's still what I'm trying to do with Jet&Bo today.
